Removing/Screening Hot Community Posts

    Dear WordPress peeps:

In the grand scheme of things, this is not such a big deal. But could possibly make it so one can filter/remove the “Hot Community Posts” feature upon log-in? The global warming denialist guy has a perfect right to both hold and express his opinions, but I find myself slightly irritated and frustrated every time I log in and see his mug. To lapse, briefly, into marketing speak, it means that everyday, my first interaction with your brand is displeasurable; everyday I type in WordPress.com and then find myself spending five minutes running thought the same depressing cycle of thoughts about the fate of the planet, etc., before going about my business. It’s like if the first sip out of every can of Coke tasted like a rusty nail before you got to the Coke bit. I’m sure there’s other popular blogs which irritate other people. If I could just have some way to turn off this widget, or screen out blogs I hate from popping up there, I’d be most grateful.

Thanks for giving this your consideration.

    Cheers,
    C.

By writing what you have, here, in this forum, I’d like to tell you that here we are your fellow-bloggers and volunteers who are helping with technical questions about wordpress.com blogs.

It’s not all boring and regulated/regimental dull, but we do try to stay on topic, though I think we are friendly and efficient.

At the same time, we-all have no access to decisions made by wordpress.com, nor to the format of this site. If you want to complain about that or annoying things you see on the site, or even to compliment wp.com about stuff you like here, then you should contact them directly.

Thanks for giving this your consideration.
