Rename index page

  I have a homepage (index) where I can write posts on. (the blog)

  I would like to have a static page as homepage (called Welcome) and rename the original homepage to Blog (and move it further on in the menu)

  I know how to set the static page (Settings, Reading)

  But how can I rename the original homepage from Home to Blog?

  And now I look further that Static option, doesn’t work with my theme I’m afraid.
  The homepage takes the content of my Welcome page. :(

  Create and publish an empty page called “blog” and set that as the “posts” page at settings > reading.

  The static front page you can title anything you like and you can also choose what label appears in the top menu by creating a custom menu instead of using the default navigation. Custom menus give you a lot more flexibility.
