Can anyone tell me how to recover an apparent “taken blog address”? I completely deleted and renamed my account and when i went to add new blog it claims the blog address is taken however on searching there doesn’t seem to be a record of anything under the name – theth3rddrawer.

There is no recycling of deleted blog URLS here at wordpress.com. That’s why 3 warnings and an email with a verification link are need to delete a blog.

Or you can purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade as in that case it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

We can’t help you without the exact URL you are talking about. From your first post, it appears you had and then deleted the URL. Please give us the URL of your current blog and the URL you want to change it to.
