Renamed admin user to author. Need to re-create an admin user.

Hello I have an issue with my blog.
I have deleted the admin user and only have a user listed as author. As a result I have lost some of the functionality of the blog.
I need to re-add the admin role.
Please can you help me with this

That is not a WordPress.COM blog but a WordPress.ORG blog, and you need to be in their forums for help with that version of the software.

Really? I don’t see the grey Admin bar, but then I haven’t been seeing it on all blogs recently.

Did you create the blog with your account?
Finding the owner account that set up the blog would be a good start

Hi everyone that has replied thanks for getting back to me.
To give you some more background, I am helping a community group with this website as I’m know to be a bit techie and do web design with WordPress.org, but I’m not familiar with WordPress.com
I am being told that the ‘admin account’ was changed to the author account.
Is the admin acount the same thing as the owner account?
There is only one user left on the account (as far as I can see) and this is the author.
I would expect (at least via self hosted WordPress to see a ‘user’ panel but that is not there.

There are two other administrators on the site. You’ll need to contact one of them to be added as an administrator on the site instead of an author. As an author on the site you are not able to add and remove users, which is why you don’t see that option in your dashboard.
