Renaming a blog with the domain of another blog which you already have

    I currently have two wordpress blogs, call them domain1.wordpress.com and domain2.wordpress.com. I only want to retain one of them – but the content is in domain2.wordpress.com, while I want to use the domain domain1.wordpress.com. In other words, it’s not really a redirect because I don’t want to retain the domain2.wordpress.com adress, I just want domain1.wordpress.com to be the sole address to the content of domain2.wordpress.com. Any thoughts?

    Hi!

    Ok, so it sounds like you want to do the following:

    1. Keep the site: domain1.wordpress.com

    2. Keep the content on domain2.wordpress.com, but the site itself isn’t needed

    You can export the content from domain2.wordpress.com and import it into domain1.wordpress.com.

    On domain2.wordpress.com, go to My Site → Settings and select the Export tab to download a copy of your blog’s content. There is more information about exporting your content in this support document:

    Once you have your XML files from domain2.wordpress.com, you can then import them into domain1.wordpress.com. There is more information about that here:
