renaming blog roll

how do you rename blogroll? i see some people have it called- Sites we love, friends & family, help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know. We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

From your Dashboard find the “Links” icon, then click on “Link Categories”. You can add as many Categories as you want and they’ll appear in your blogroll in alphabetical or numerical order. You can also safely edit or delete them later on without changing or deleting the links archived under the category.

@feartheseeds: Please note that the biggest problem in this forum is the number of wrong visits we get from wp.ORG bloggers. Most experienced volunteers here have agreed not to give replies before making sure we’re talking about a wp.COM blog.

You’re missing the point. Your advice is quite correct if we’re talking about a wp.COM blog (which we don’t know). About 30% of the visits we get are from wp.ORG bloggers, who must be directed to their own forum instead of being given replies.

fts you’re just not used to answering as many wrong questions as we are. Fully a third of our questions are from people we can’t help.

I know, I read the thread where the decision to cut and paste was made. If I’m here, however, and I’m feeling somewhat helpful, and I see someone asking a question I think I can answer then I’ll take the opportunity to be helpful to that person. If WordPress wants to ban .ORG people from coming in here, all power to them. Again, if I offer poor advice to anyone please feel free to correct me.

Thank you Featherseeds! I adding the category – My Favorite Places, but it is not showing up on my .com blog and I want to move all the items from blogroll in there- is there a way to do this? Sorry for the extra question and for causing so much controversy! I appreciate your help!

A category won’t show up in the sidebar if there are no links assigned to it. You’ll have to go to Links>Edit and reassign each link.
(And you caused no controversy: we get questions with no link to the blog all the time. It’s just that both you and us save time if you provide the link; most volunteers here refuse to answer without that.)

I did it! thanks!!! and yes, I see what you are saying- I s/d have read the 8 Things to Know better, I thought since it said Member that everyone would know. and actually this is the first time I have ever posted a question on an internet forum EVER- so I am grateful for everyone’s help and will be sure to follow protocol next time.
