Renaming categories

I want to rename a category, but all the instructions I’m finding say to go to Posts -> Categories, but I’m not seeing anything that looks like that. In the sidebar, there’s a ‘Blog Posts’, but when I click on that, it just brings up my list of blog posts and that’s it. Can someone give me specific directions about how to rename a category? Note that I’m just using the free WordPress.com site, not WordPress.org.

This is what the WordPress.com support page has to say:
“Managing Categories
The Posts -> Categories page in your dashboard displays all your categories and shows the name, description, and number of posts belonging to each category. If you move your mouse over a category a set of options will appear, allowing you to edit, quick-edit, or delete that category:Managing Categories
If you click on Quick Edit the category will change into an edit box and you can rename the category quickly:
Quick Edit Category
If you click on Edit you will taken to a separate page where you can edit the name, parent, and description. This functions exactly the same as adding a category.
Clicking on Delete will delete that category. When a category is deleted, all posts that were only in that category will be assigned to the default category. If a post was also in other categories it will remain untouched.
Note: You cannot delete the default category.”

Maybe I need to be more specific about what my problem is. I can’t find “Posts -> Categories” on my dashboard. I see “Blog Posts”, but clicking it does not bring up something called Categories.
By dashboard, I’m referring to the first page that comes up when I go to the site, which says “My Site” in the corner.

Hi same issue with my blog, but when I click on the link of the old dashboard it doesn´t appear nothing except a message about cheating and no credentials to do this. Any help? Regards!
