Renaming entire ‘Links’ section in WP.com blog
-
Hi folks! So I’m trying to find out IF (and if so, therefore…) HOW I can rename the area on the right-hand section of my blog that’s called “LINKS”. I have been fiddling around in the “links” section of my menu and I understand how you can add new ‘link categories’ (BTW, I did create a link section and added a link under it, but nothing about that is being reflected on my actual blog. Still just shows up under “LINKS” and no real reference to my category…but that’s a different matter.”
Basically, I want to rename the entire section from “LINKS” to “Stuff About ‘PR'”.
Please let me know if this is possible — or if it’s not, then how I can get these so-called ‘link categories’ to actually show up.
Many many thanks from a WP.com newbie.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Edit the “links” category name and change it to “Stuff About ‘PR”. The links widget will reflect the links category as the title of the links widget. Also, if you have stuff you want to show up that are under different categories, go to appearance > widgets, open the links widget and then make sure you have “show all” selected.

Thanks…but…
If I go to my dashboard, I see the “Links” section of the menu. Under it is “links”, “add new” and “links categories.”
IF I…
-click on “Links”, then it takes me to a section that looks like “Links” is a locked-in name.
-click on “add new” then I can add a “new category” (which I presume is not what I want to do
-click on “links category” I see “blogroll” (a default?) and my attempt to create a new category.
So I’m not sure how to actually straight-up rename the “category” called “Links”.
Basically your first step of “Edit the ‘links’ category name” seems hard to actually figure out!
Thanks TSP!

Make a new link category – move links you want to new category – if necessary move the links widget into the sidebar and choose display only the new category.

At links > links category is there a “links” category?
Can we have a link to the blog that you are talking about?
-
Sure: emiliesfruits.wordpress.com.
So if I go to Links > Link categories, there is only “blogroll”
I added on link so far “Embargoes: blah blah blah”. In my WP “links” area it is indeed under the “blogroll” category.
My overall question is: on the actual blog, is it possible to change the word “LINKS” to “Stuff About PR”. If “Stuff About PR” : “blogroll”, then how come on the actual appearance of the blog, it’s not “blogroll” but instead “LINKS” (ala “RECENT ENTRIES”)?
Thank you soooo much

OK, I figured it out. What is happening with Titan is that the “default” sample set of widgets that the theme is generating in the bottom left bottom bar has “links” as a permanent title.
First go to links > links categories and hover your mouse over the “blogroll” category name and choose “edit” then change the category name to what you want and then click save changes.
Next, go to appearance > widgets and put the “links” widget into the left bottom bar.
Go to your blog and have a look.

SacredPath and TimeThief (hahaha — also, best note-opening-salutation EVER). Thank you SO much for your help. Amazing. Both options work, and I really appreciate your time. Happy Friday :)
