Renaming image files in Media Library

  I’m having a problem with image file names. I have a text widget with three images linked to different websites. All links work fine. The issue is that when the mouse is hovered over any of the images the original file name is displayed in the text box (Alt text?).
  I have tried changing the file name in the Media Library and also inserting an HTML Alt description in the widget. Neither of these actions has worked. Is there a way to either change the original file name or impose a new name/title via the HTML in the widget?

  Each of those images has a title attribute. Go to your text widget and look for the code below. Replace what’s in the quotes with your desired wording.
