renew
-
Hi,
Because of a problem with my email account through which I registered at WordPress.com, I did not see the renewal emails you sent me in December 2021. Hence, I cannot access my extendedtechniques site. I have now entered a new credit card on my account. Please let me know how to restore things as they have been. (I don’t remember which ‘plan’ I paid for.)
It is best to not use (email visible only to moderators and staff) anymore. Better is: (email visible only to moderators and staff).
Best regards,

Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @steinwey,
Both your sites are still available at their free addresses. As you previously connected your custom domains, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan again to set these as your primary domain. To select a plan, please go to Upgrades → Plans.
With regards to your WordPress.com account email, you can do that through your account settings.
I hope that helps and please reach out again if you have any further questions.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I looked at upgrading, and got the choice between $0 and $15 per month. But I see that I used to pay $99 per year for lukvaes.info, and $13 per year for extendedpianotechniques.info. Did prices raise that much that it would now be $180 per year? And what happened to the $13/year plan?Luk

Hi Luk,
Did prices raise that much that it would now be $180 per year?
A few weeks ago we replaced our old plans with the new Pro plan, and it’s currently the only upgrade option we offer. Pro is essentially a replacement for our $300 a year Business Plan.
We are working on new options at a lower price as well, but those aren’t available yet.
And what happened to the $13/year plan?
You’re referring to our legacy domain mapping/domain connection upgrade. We haven’t offered that as a stand-alone upgrade for several years, but accounts like your that had already owned that upgrade when we retired it, would have been able to continue renewing it.
But once it expired and was removed from your account your account lost access to it, so it’s not possible to add it back at this point.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Hi,
Thanks for that. It clarifies things, though that price hike remains hard to swallow. So I would have to play $180 for EACH of my two domains?

Hi Luk,
So I would have to play $180 for EACH of my two domains?
Yes, that’s correct. At the moment, two Pro plans are needed to connect your domains.
If you have any other questions, just let me know, and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks. I just paid for one of the domains. (The other is for later, when I need it.)
Now I see that I can link the domain I own (extendedpianotechniques.info) or transfer that ownership to my wordpress plan. This would be $20 per year from next year onwards, which is significantly less than what I pay now for that domain. Does this $20 include email hosting? -
Does this $20 include email hosting?
No, email hosting would be an additional cost – you can see the different options here: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/
Your current domain registrar is likely more expensive since they are providing email hosting for you at the moment.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
