Renew Button Not Showing

  Hi I am trying to renew my Domain as it lapsed but the renew button is not showing … any ideas please.

  Probably means your domain name is in Redemption and you need staff help to renew – I will flag this for staff attention

  Unfortunately, mickisaway.com expired on June 16 and is not available for renewal.

  When a domain expires, it becomes the property of our registrar partner and is returned to the public market at their discretion. We have no control over this process.

  staff-blorbo – I am a bit confused on this one – looking at different whois sites – some show expiring June 16, 2012 another one looks like June 16, 2013 – did not see a “this domain can be registered” message nor does it go to some “this is for sale” place holder site –

  the name servers look like they are pointed to WordPress.COM – the domain mapping has expired –

  has the domain been registered by someone else?

  But the Registrar is still through Wild West – has the base Registrar just parked it? In the past the Redemption period has been around 60 days which has not passed yet.

  Just wondering what the options would be for the OP

  No, it hasn’t been released, but it’s not held in redemption either.

  The length of the redemption period is also at the discretion of the registrar.

  So I guess it is a “new” status – sort of “in limbo” – OK – but it does not make sense to me – holding a name in Redemption for a while gives the Registrar time to charge extra for those that had renewal problems – in limbo as it is now does not seem to do any good for anyone – can’t be registered and can’t be renewed – not even being held for ransom by a squatter –

  Any guess why the “in limbo” status

  If it’s in limbo, they could be prepping it for auction or working with back-orders, or simply queuing it for return.
