  I’d like to renew the domain marchingskyhawks.org. My site is https://marchingskyhawks.wordpress.com/

  Correct account: Yes

  Hi there,

  From what I can see the domain marchingskyhawks.org is registered in our system, but was purchased by another admin on your site, and is not a domain under your @chapelmccullough account.

  Do you still remain in contact with the person who set up your site domain? If so you will need to ask that they transfer the domain to you, which they can do by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-a-domain-to-another-wordpress-com-account/#transfer-domain-to-another-administrator-on-the-site

  Once the domain is transferred to you, it will be possible to see it and renew it from here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

  Yes, we’re logged in with the original owner but we are not seeing the option to transfer the domain. I have already been added as an Admin, so is it possible for me to renew the .org address?

  Hi @chapelmccullough,

  You’ll need to login as the domain owner and contact us, as the domain is currently in redemption and cannot be transferred until it has been redeemed and renewed.

  To clarify, at this moment the domain is expired and in it’s redemption period. This means it is not under our control (it has been returned to registry) which also means it cannot be transferred.

  I can confirm, I do not see the domain in your account when I look here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

  In order to recover this domain, the current owner (the user you have mentioned above) must contact us directly to initiate the recovery process and pay the late recovery fee. There is not another way around this, due to the way domains are regulated this request must come from the current owner of the domain, which is not @chapelmccullough

  To help expedite this process you can have the current domain owner contact our account recovery team here, and they will assist the domain owner in regaining access to their account and starting the recovery process: passwordhelp@wordpress.com
