renew domain

Hello.
Your site does not use our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com. Instead, you are hosted by GoDaddy and set up on the open source WordPress.org software. I’d suggest asking your question at WordPress.org forum for a more complete answer.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:

Hi there,
It looks like you renewed that domain three days ago, on 27 January, and then cancelled it two minutes later for a full refund.
Please confirm if you want us to restore the domain to your account. I’m also sending you a link via email to pay for it again. Once you confirm and complete payment, I can contact our domain provider to restore the domain.
Also note that cancelled domains go into redemption after a few days. If that happens before we’re able to get your domain back from our registrar, there will be an extra $80 fee to restore it.
The WordPress.org forums can only help with matters relating to the open source WordPress software. They cannot help with hosting problems, and they definitely cannot assist anyone with domain renewal issues.
Only the registrar where a domain is registered can help with that, and in this case that registrar is us. It doesn’t matter that the actual hosting is with GoDaddy, nor that the site uses the open source version of WordPress. We are the service provider in control of the domain, and the domain can only be renewed (or in this case restored) through us.
This is why we ask that any threads regarding expired domains are please tagged for staff, so we can double check this:

@kokkieh
Thanks for letting me know this information and I’ll make sure to use this in my future responds. In the mean time can I clarify with you few things. When a question such as this posted, as volunteers do we just not respond anything and directly tag staff? As you mentioned it is an expired domain which I believe only staff will have this information if the memeber doesn’t mention anything about it in the 1st place.
From the volunteer guide as mentioned:With domain, refund, and billing-related questions and renewal problems, feel free to answer, but still tag the thread as well so we can double check. If our help is not needed we’ll just remove the tag without a reply

Could you please point me out how do I find out about that? How can we know who is the registrar of the website? Correct me if I’m wrong, but is by checking the name servers?
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
So if these are the name servers then WordPress.com is the registrar. Are they other names other than this one above to lookout for as WordPress.com name servers? Thanks Kokkieh for you time and feedback to help me respond better in the forums.. I really appreciate it. Have a nice day =)

Hi @nomadicpulse,
When a question such as this posted, as volunteers do we just not respond anything and directly tag staff?
Of course you can answer it. But if you’re not sure if the domain is registered through us or not, feel free to tag it.
Could you please point me out how do I find out about that? How can we know who is the registrar of the website?
You can find a domain’s registrar by using a Whois Lookup service. For the domain in this thread have a look here:
https://gwhois.org/thorhusted.com+dns
As you can see even though the registrar is Wild West Domains, we (WordPress.com) are the reseller and therefore we handle all requests regarding that domain.

All the name servers do is show you who manages a domain’s DNS. It’s usually an indication of who is the hosting provider for the site at the domain, but not always as name servers are not the only method you can use to point a domain to a host’s server.
To see where the domain registration is you need to look at the registrar information, as @fstat said above.
If you have more questions about this, please start your own thread so we don’t take over the OPs thread with this discussion.

We’ve received your payment, but unfortunately the domain has gone into redemption since I sent you that link, as I warned might happen in my reply above. Now that it’s in redemption we have to pay an additional $80 fee to get it back, so I’m sending you a new payment link via email for that as well.
Once we receive your payment of the redemption fee, we can contact our domain provider to restore the domain to us.
