Renew domain

  I’m wanting to renew the domain for another user as a “gift”. They’ve made me an administrator of their site, and although the domain is expiring soon, I don’t have the option under “My Upgrades” to renew the domain.

  I want them to continue to have ownership of it, I just want to do the financial transaction for them.

  Is it possible to do this?

  I don’t think so, since the only ones that are allowed to renew an upgrade are the owners of the specific upgrade –

  Yes a short coming at times – but I have flagged this for the staff to see if there is any way you can send some sort of Gift Certificate to the Upgrade owner

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately there is no way to do any sort of gift certificate. If you want to pay for it, you’ll have to take over the domain. The only real thing you could do is, as a private person, send some funds to the person via Paypal or some other such money transfer, however that would be the only way.

  @amightywp – I did make a suggestion about these types of renewals earlier today – it has been sitting on a sticky for some time to throw into the suggestion box – to allow the “gifting” of an upgrade if you were an editor or higher on a blog
