Renew domain mapping

  Hi there,
  I’d like to simply renew my domain mapping. I don’t want to: ‘upgrade to a plan’ but when I go to the Manage Purchases section of my account this is the only thing that’s on offer to me. How, exactly, do I simply renew my domain mapping?

  Try looking at it this way – https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

  Note that if your domain mapping upgrade has expired, you will be unable to renew it. You will have to purchase a paid plan to regain the domain mapping option

  Thank you Dave!

  Basically, looking back over the emails from WordPress I failed to renew my domain mapping upgrade in time. But I’m still unclear as to why I have to buy a plan at $35 rather than the regular $13 per year option that I’ve taken for the past 3 years. Is there a clear explanation is it just the rules of WordPress?

  The domain mapping/domain ONLY option was removed last year. Those who kept their domain mapping arrangements up to date are grandfathered in, but those who allowed theirs to expire are out of luck.

  Domains are no longer available for purchase or mapping individually. They are included with WordPress.com Premium. This change has been made as we work to offer the best combination of value and performance for users while still offering a completely free product for those who do not wish to purchase any upgrades.

  Hi there,

  Your mapping upgrade expired in December last year. At this point I’m not able to restore that upgrade to your account any more so you can renew it, so the only way to add it back is to purchase a plan.
