Renew Domain Mapping

    Hi

    Our website (thebroadreach.com) is a domain registered through Google, and then mapped to WordPress. For some reason, when visitors go to the site, it says that the “domain mapping has expired and needs to be renewed”.

    I have checked, and as far as I can tell our WordPress subscription is up to date (when I tried to purchase a new plan it said there is already a plan associated with our account), and I checked on Google and our domain is still registered and up to date (next renewal only due in 2019).

    So I am not sure what is required to “renew the domain mapping”? There is no obvious link to click through WordPress’ admin portal, and I am a bit lost.

    PS I tried upgrading our Plan (i.e. paying again) but got this message:
    “Unable to buy WordPress.com Premium, this site has WordPress.com Premium purchased by different user.”

    I don’t know who the other user could be, as far as I am aware this is the only account that is associated with administration of our WordPress site.

    But perhaps its this “other user” that needs to renew the mapping? If so, how do I go about finding out who this user is?

    Hi Adam,

    The Premium Plan and linked domain mapping upgrade on your site is owned by the username, grantshippey, who is also the owner of the site. Only that user can renew the upgrades. If they’re no longer involved with the site the best course of action would be to get in touch with them and have them transfer ownership of the site and upgrades to another admin on the site.

    Else, you’ll have to wait for our system to automatically remove those upgrades and then repurchase them via your account. We can’t remove upgrades from an account while they’re still in the post-expiry grace period.

    There are five users on this site – four admins and one author. You can see all users on your site if you go to My Site ->People in the dashboard.

    grantshippey created this site and purchased those upgrades in February 2014. Your account was added as an admin on the site in June 2014.
