Renew Domain Subscription

  I received an email saying my domain had expired and I can renew for $18. However, the WordPress site only gives me an option to renew my Premium subscription at $99. How can I renew my domain at $18/year and not $99/year?

  I have notified the Support Staff in order to un-buddle your domain from the Premium plan so you can proceed with the renewal.

  Hey there,

  I checked with our registrar and michaelraphan.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

  Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
  the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

  Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

  I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

  Thanks for the information, Darnell. I have a few more questions.

  Is there anyone in customer service I can speak to regarding waving the late renewal fee? I’ve been a customer for years, I have a toddler and a newborn baby at home and my wife spent a significant amount of time in the hospital in March, which is way I wasn’t as attentive as I’d normally be. I’d like to think extending the grace period by a couple of weeks in my case would very possibly be warranted.
