Renew expired domain

I would like to renew the domain http://www.wholewomanhealth.org, which expired on September 30, 2015. I am not seeing the option in My Upgrades.

it looks like your name has been bought by a squatter when it was not renewed

I have flagged this for the staff to help

  • Hi there,

Unfortunately, we no longer control the domain wholewomanhealth.org and cannot renew it for you. All of your content is still available through this URL:

    http://wholewomanhealth.wordpress.com

To avoid further confusion, I removed the expired domain upgrade from your account.

We attempted to inform you of your domain’s expiration (via email and dashboard notices). It was possible to recover the domain for some weeks after its expiration, but because of the time lapsed, the domain was sent back to the registrar, who then sold it to a new owner.

This support article describes the expiration process in detail, if you are interested:

Here is the publicly available contact information of the new domain owner:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=wholewomanhealth.org

You could try contacting them to see if they will sell the domain to you. Please be sure to use a reputable, online purchasing site for this transaction, if it happens. Also be aware that the new owner might try to ask you several times what you originally paid for the domain – this is how domain squatters make their income – so it might be less trouble, and less costly, to register a different domain.

I am sorry I was not able to help you more in this case.

I also noticed a domain on another of your sites, phoenixreikiandtarot.com, expired almost a year ago. I have also removed that upgrade from your account.

What is a good reputable site to use to try to buy it back?

  • I’m afraid that falls outside my experience, as I’ve never had to buy a domain back from a squatter before, but if I could venture a guess I’d say a site like ebay or similar, which has built-in controls to protect you as buyer against fraudulent transactions.

Understand that the current owner of the domain has it registered with the registrar of their choice, so if you buy the domain from them it will be a transaction between you as individuals, not between you and a registrar, so use common sense and good judgement as you would in any private business transaction.
