renew expired domain mapping – urgent!!!!!

    please, I need to get this domain mapping reactivated! My business and email is down! I have sent emails and posted to this forum and don’t know what else to do!! Please contact me at (email visible only to moderators and staff) – this is really urgent! I never for an email that the domain mapping expired. I cannot reacrivate this online and none of my client can connect to me! Please wordpress support – I need your help asap

    You need to work with the staff to see if they can help you

    The domain name linked to your blog seems to have been renewed by someone, maybe a squatter to hold the name hostage.

    I will flag this for the staff’s attention

    In the mean time – set your base WordPress.COM blog back to the primary domain – that will not fix your email but at least has your web site content back on the web – you can then send a note to your customers and make a Post for any of your subscribers that there has been a problem with the domain name renewal

    Dashboard >> Store >> Domain >> then I think there is a box to set the primary domain back to your base site.

    How can someone map my domain when I own the URL?

    You actually only rent the domain name. If you fail to renew it the domain name goes back and anyone can register the domain name. I got my domain name when the original person did not use or renew the domain name. It looks like another person has registered the domain name.

    The staff do check into the forums during the day, but I don’t know what their schedule is and who will field what types of problems.

    I just looked thru all my emails – I did not get a notify from WordPress that is somain mapping is expiring. How can WordPress not send their paying customers a notification? I really don’t understand.

    We can’t say: we’re not staff.

    There was some sort of glitch for a few weeks that prevented notifications from going out.

    I have registered .net tonight as an emergency but everything regarding my business is the .com – I have been a huge WordPress fan until today!

    The forum is not the best way to get in touch with staff. Sending one message via the dashboard Help button is. However, this thread is flagged for attention.

    Now, can you confirm that you own the domain and it’s up to date? Because usually both domain and domain mapping expire at the same time, in which case buying the mapping alone isn’t what you need.

    I have sent them several messages via the Dashboard help with no response. I lost both – I alsways buy my URLs via GoDaddy but this one time I did buy it via WordPress.

    Don’t keep re-sending, because that puts you back at the end of the line.

    If you bought the domain name from WordPress, then renew it from WordPress now. Then you will be able to renew the mapping as well.

    I cannot renew it – a URL resell company did that today – it’s now a parked URL at GoDaddy

    Then you must simply wait. Or you could purchase another domain, with a hyphen or something.

    I am so frustrated with wordpress as well. I’ve used this before to create a site for a new company and loved it. So now I am trying again for another website and I cannot for the life of me get the same account access as I had. I don’t know if they changed something since last summer. I can’t even figure out how to create a new post in one of the forums to ask a question. Clearly I can reply to someone though. Can you tell me how to create question post and let me know how long it took for support because I am waiting on them as well.
