Renew only my domain name, not linkage to wordpress.com blog

  I would like to renew my domain (purchased via wordpress.com for $5), yet don’t want to purchase the linkage of my wordpress blog to this domain (for $13). I’m only being given the option to renew for $18 total. How can I renew only my domain name? Am not actively using this domain, yet want to remain the owner of it. Thanks!

  Please note that just the domain name renewal is $18. We only separate it ($13 for Domain Mapping) for users who have domains registered elsewhere and want to map it to their WordPress.com sites.
