Our WordPress Premium subscription expires on Monday (MARCH 23) and we are trying to renew, but the employee who paid for it last year is no longer with the company. What should we do? We do not want the page to be downgraded as it is highly visible by our parent company

Hi there,
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and associated email address.
Only the blog’s owner can transfer blog ownership of any blog and upgrades to another WordPress.COM username account and associated email address by making them an official user of the blogs ie. an Admin first, and then using this process https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-account

I actually do have control of the blog owner account, but this employee was just a regular admin that made the purchase.
All we need to do is change the credit card information for the account.
I also need to know if the payment doesn’t go through (because I can’t change that info) if the site will go down or I as the owner will have the option to use a different card.

If you have access to the account that purchased the upgrade – just log-in and change the credit card info – if you are within about 60 days of the expiration date, you should be able to do a manual renew at that time
Then transfer the upgrade to an account that will be around for a while

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and associated email address that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade for it, then navigate to > Store > My Upgrades and renew any upgrades. https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades/

You have to click Dashboard → Store → My upgrades first.

Do you know which former employee purchased the upgrade? If so, they can log in and transfer the upgrade to another admin account. She could also just post to this thread and I can do the transfer it for you.
If you move the upgrade to the same user that bought the domain mapping, you could also save a little money by bundling the upgrades.

Hi Liz! This is Dan again. We were able to recover the account, but still need to do the transfer. The upgrade was performed with this account.
