    Our plan expires in 20 days and I need to renew but it won’t let me! Says I’m not authorized to do so. Please help!

    Your account does not own the plan on your site. Only the plan owner can renew it.

    The plan on your site belongs to the username, lordoflifeadmin1. That user will need to log in and renew it via the Purchases page.

    Yes, how do I get her off? anyway you can do it? This is a preschool website and the board volunteer members take care of this. I need it switched to me.

  • That user is the owner of the site, so cannot be removed as an admin. And only the owner of an upgrade can renew or transfer it – I can’t take away an upgrade someone paid for and which they own at someone else’s request.

    The only way you can become owner of the site and upgrades is if the owner of the lordoflifeadmin1 account logs in and transfers the site to you. You can find instructions to do that here:

    The owner put in my email to transfer per your instructions above. However, when I log in, it still shows the other person as owner and we can’t renew the plan. Please help as it expires in 8 days and we need to renew!!

  • That site still shows as belonging to lordoflifeadmin1 to me, meaning they did not complete the ownership transfer.

    I can see that we’ve sent them instructions via email to transfer the domain to your account so we can complete the site transfer. That was two days ago and they haven’t replied to that or transferred the domain yet, meaning we can’t complete the process.

    There is no way for us to transfer a domain – literally only the current owner can do it – so there is nothing we can do until they transfer the domain and reply again to the email we sent them.

    Okay, so looks like it transferred to me, correct? Can you check please? If so, what is my next step in paying/renewing? I’m new to this. Thanks for your help!

  • Okay, the domain is now in your account, yes, but the plan is not yet. Can you please ask lordoflifeadmin1 to reply to the email we sent them, or alternatively to comment here and confirm, then I can complete the transfer and you can renew the plan.

    Alternatively I can unlink the domain from the plan so you can renew only the domain and let the plan expire in the other account, but I’d recommend completing the transfer so you’ll have full control over the site going forward. There is still a week before the domain expires, and it’s not cancelled immediately once it does, so there is time to get everything over to your account.

    Thank you for confirming. I’ve now transferred the Premium Plan and the site as well.

    You should now see the Premium Plan on your purchases page. You can renew it from there, and the domain will be automatically renewed as part of the plan.
