Again, Apologies if you see this question second time but I didn’t get an answer as I just updated my email from my old developer’s email.
My blog as expired but all I want to have is just a link to my site. I buy my domain from elsewhere so I don’t need actual domain for my site. Last year I paid only $11 for the year but now it’s offering me $2.99 per month or even more expensive options.
What is the right option I shall do just to review as before?

Hi there,
Your domain mapping upgrade expired in December and is no longer on your account. You can’t renew an upgrade that has already expired, so please add a new mapping upgrade instead under My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the Map It option, not the register domain option.

Thanks. I’m struggling to see the last bit which you instruct as Map it option. When I go to My Sites-DOmains-Add at the top there are three options Plans, Domains and Email.
In plans I have the three options of Personal, Premium and Business.
In Domains I have just an option Add Domain which I believe you say not to selectio and then neliprahova.wordpress.com which says is included with site Primary Domain.
And then Email says – eable powerful email featres.

Select the Add Domain option. If you type in your domain, you’ll see a message that the domain already exists, and we’ll suggest some alternative domains. But at the bottom of that list you’ll also see a Map It option.

Hi, sorry I keep finding the answers in my trash folder so I’m only now back on this and I still can’t renew my blog. so I go to my account through wordpress.com/me then I go to Manage Purchases and I only have the option ‘Upgrade now’. as there is no other option I click on it so I chose neliprahova.wordpress.com and then I see again the three options of Euro2.99, 8.25 or 24.92 per month.
Then I went on the left handside to Domains section and click add and i can see – Already own a domain? Free with your plan. Map it. So I select this option and it promots me to enter my domain which is my website http://www.neliprahova.com but when I click add it gives me a price of Euro 99 which sows – wordpress.com premium anaul subscription and then Domain mapping – annual subscription free. But when I remove the wordpress premium it removes the domain mapping as well. So I’m forced to pay the Euro99.
Please explain a bit more what I need to do.

As I’ve said above, the domain mapping was removed from your account in December last year. You can’t renew it any more because it doesn’t exist any more.
You need to add a new domain mapping upgrade instead, and now that can only be done as part of a plan. If you don’t want the Premium Plan, you can also use the Personal Plan.
Go to My Site ->Plans and add the Personal Plan.
Then go to My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the Map It option to add the domain mapping upgrade.

Thank you. Can I clarify – the product as such of just domain mapping doesn’t exist or because I let it expire is the issue? So to do Personal Plan would be the cheapest option? There is no other way to just get the mapping?
If I get the Personal Plan option would that remove the advertisement?

I don’t understand what you’re asking here. To renew an upgrade, the upgrade needs to still be in your account. Your mapping upgrade was removed last year when it expired, so it cannot be renewed any more. Had you contacted us immediately at that time I’d have been able to still restore it, and you would have been able to renew it.
But at this point I don’t have the option of restoring it any more, so the only way to get mapping again is to add a new mapping upgrade, and that now requires a plan.
So to do Personal Plan would be the cheapest option? There is no other way to just get the mapping?
Correct. Personal is the cheapest plan. It’s not possible any more to buy mapping without a plan.
If I get the Personal Plan option would that remove the advertisement?
Personal also prevents ads from showing on your site, yes. However, it does not remove the WordPress.com attribution link at the bottom of your site. That link can only be removed on the Business Plan.

And one more question – I don’t think I could see the domain mapping when I was selecting the personal plan. Just to confirm it will be included in the price plan if I go for personal plan.

Just like it did when you previously had the mapping upgrade.
If you add mapping for blog.neliprahova.com, that’s what will show in your browser when viewing the site.

Buying a plan does nothing to the content on your site. Your site will still look exactly as it looks now. It will just appear at the new domain, and will have some additional features over a free site.
Just to confirm it will be included in the price plan if I go for personal plan.
Every plan includes one free domain. After adding the plan, go to My Site ->Domains, and you’ll be able to add the domain mapping for free from there.

Thanks again. One final quesiton. At the moment I have my domain neliprahova.com via godaddy. Will it allow me to pay for a site considering the domain is already paid for? Also once my account with godaddy expires next year and if I continue to renew the account with you then I don’t have to pay godaddy or are this different things and domains and I’m not correct in my assumptions.

You are paying GoDaddy for ownership of the domain. However, we also charge a fee for connecting the domain on our end. That is the Plan/mapping upgrade.
If you’re also paying GoDaddy for hosting, you don’t need that. You only need to pay them for the domain itself, but we are hosting your site, not GoDaddy, so you don’t need to pay them for that services as well.
Also once my account with godaddy expires next year and if I continue to renew the account with you then I don’t have to pay godaddy or are this different things
It’s not possible to transfer a domain to us, so you will need to keep paying GoDaddy to renew the domain. If you stop paying them for the domain you won’t own the domain any longer. But you don’t need to pay them for anything else, as I said above.

Hey Kokkieh, I haven’t received an email ticket? This seems to be the place the last word press support stopped. Is there a problem with my email you are sending too? I am receiving the thread notifications but no email ticket? I have checked Junk and nothing there either
