  Why does WordPress renewal come up one month earlier every year? Doesn’t this mean my 1-year payment only covers 11 months?

  you get your full 12 months

  the auto-renew one month early is in case something goes wrong with the payment – there is a month to fix what ever the problem was so you will not have the upgrade missing from your site – very important on things like domain mapping and domain registration

  What you say about domain mapping and registration makes sense, and I appreciate the intent to avoid any disruption in service. But from a customer standpoint, I started in May 2013, I renewed in April 2014, March 2015, and in 2016 I’m renewing in February. Next year I’ll be asked to renew in January. I do not see how that month is being accounted for in my payments, which are advertised as being annual. Please explain.
