renewal didn't happen, website now active

    Hello – I am looking for customer support. We received an email notification that our site would be automatically renewed. Then yesterday, the site was no longer active. I do not know how to reactivate it. Is there customer support that can walk me through this?

    It looks like the card we had on file for you expired in January, so it was already expired by the time we tried to renew the domain. We sent you an email on 24 February to say that automatic renewal failed and that you needed to renew your domain. Did you not receive it?

    That domain has already been removed from our system and is currently in redemption with our registrar. It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. Let me know if you agree to that fee and I can get the recovery process started.

    I am sorry, about the double post. This is all new to me. I don’t understand how customer service works through a forum, I spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to find a phone # or an email address to work with. Will all communication be through this post?

    We also could not find an email saying the renewal failed and the card it was originally charged to, does not expire until later this year.

    We still have not received an email. Could you use this email instead? We need to update our contact information as I will be taking ownership of this from the Rector. I am the parish admin and my email is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    I have added a credit card to the account so the renewal and reinstatement fees can be applied.

  • I sent the email to the Gmail address appearing in your account settings. The renewal reminder was also sent to that address. Please check the spam folder, and also the Social and Updates tabs in the inbox.

    If I should email a different address, please first update the address in your account settings, as I can only communicate about this here, or via the email address on file for your account.

    The only card we had on file for your account expired in 01/17. The redemption fee cannot be charged to your card automatically, so updating the card in your account won’t help at this point. The only way to pay for the domain’s recovery is via the link I’ve emailed you.

    Good Morning! We have checked all folders and there is nothing from you from yesterday. I have updated our email address in our account. Can you resend the link so that we can make payment? Thank you.

    We also checked our credit card records, and the card we charged to last February does not expire until later this year, so we are not sure what happened there.

  • Our registrar has restored your domain, and I’ve reactivated it on your account. It should be working again within a few hours.
