  My domain is expired and I would like to re-new it. I ran into problems with renewing the domain last year because your paypal plugin asks for a creditcard when I want to simply pay with the paypal account. This took quite some time last year to resolve (I still have the back-and-forth communications in my e-mail), but eventually I got another means of renewing it with paypal from one of your support staff. I would like to have the same means of paying with paypal (and I suggest to fix the plugin because it’s been like this for over a year now).

  Hi,

  When you visit your My Upgrades page via https://identityisdynamic.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades and click renew, there should be a tab just above where you can enter credit card information to switch to PayPal.

  Sigh…

  After I follow the paypal plug-in, it asks me to enter a creditcard to add to paypal and pay with it. This was the case last year too… Then the support staff sent me an alternative way of paying with paypal.

  I have no problems paying with paypal on other websites (i.e. I am not a retard that can’t navigate a website, please fix your plug-in)

  Hi Edward,

  I’m asking a member of our store team for a solution.

  Looking at your issue from last year and apparently still, it isn’t WordPress.com or our implementation of PayPal that is requiring the credit card. PayPal is adding that requirement when you check out, possibly perhaps because the WordPress.com purchase could auto-renew as opposed to exclusively being an one-time purchase.

  PayPal may be able to provide additional information, but unfortunately, it isn’t something we requested nor can change.

  We’ll do what we did last year—with a direct PayPal request to the e-mail address on your account. To save this process each year, would you like to register the domain for multiple years now?

  Sure, let’s register the domain for five years, saves a lot of renewing. You can send the request to my email.

  I manually pushed the date forward to 2018, which you can verify at https://who.wildwestdomains.com/WhoIs.aspx?prog_id=wildwestdomains&domain=identityisdynamic.com , so you shouldn’t have to spend any time worrying about this for awhile!
