Renewal for the year

Attempting to renew my word press account at the same level that I have had it for the last few years. Now when I attempt to click on ‘renew’, it only gives me a choice of upgrading to a premium account, which I do not want. How do I renew the basic $18.00 per year account? Can anyone help here? Thanks!

I’m not sure what the $18 account included but here are the current plans that you can pick from.

SO, I am assuming that the 18.00 annual hosting for a personal account without the “wordpress” .com address is no longer offered? Why is this not explained somewhere? I just want the basic ,simple site without wordpress inserted before the .com, don’t need an upgrade. Do I have any other choice to get this, or is it the same plan, just with a doubled cost and the moniker “Upgrade”?

A while ago it was possible to buy some of the extra features individually, I’m pretty sure a domain name was one of those things which might explain the cheaper price. At the moment it’s included in all of the paid bundles but not available individually. The cheapest plan also includes the No Ads upgrade and premium support, hence it costing a bit more than the domain name did alone.

The price has doubled and I do not need or want the other features. I do not like the way it is not explained. All of the reminder e-mails state that the renewal is $18.00, but when I attempt to renew at $18.00 it is not offered as an option. This is deceptive advertising! Not happy about it, will not renew at this time.

I’ve flagged this for staff attention. They’ll hopefully want to take a look at the reminder emails you’ve received if they’ve been quoting a lower price than you can find on the website when you try to renew.

Hi there,
The account that you’re using to post here does not and have never owned any upgrades. If you own a domain upgrade with a different account you can still renew that domain at the original cost, provided it hasn’t expired and passed into redemption. But you will need to be logged in as the account that bought the domain.
If you can give me the domain you are trying to renew I can help you find out to which account it belongs.
