Renewal notice authentication

  I received a renewal notice in my email, and just want to make sure it’s authentic, and not spam.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you’re ever not sure about an email, my advice would be to log in directly to the site. You should see similar notices or be able to find how to renew whatever needs renewing by looking at your account directly online.

  Thanks. I don’t see any other messages on the site (neither WordPress’ or my blog), but the email looks real. Am I looking in the wrong place?

  I can help you check. I looked up the WordPress.com abbottkatz account and found that there is a custom domain spreadsheetjournalism.com that will expire on 2015-07-24 and that is probably what the email is about. We actually send out quite a few renewal reminders over a long period of time because if you lose the domain by letting it expire then you cannot always get it back and we want to help people prevent that.

  It sounds to me like the email you received was probably an early reminder.

  In your case, you can renew your domain any time before July 24th by going to Store > My Upgrades in your WP Admin dashboard and clicking the “Renew Now” button on the right. Here is a direct link:
