Renewal Notices
-
1) Exactly when is the First (and other) Renewal Notices sent?
2) This is the number of days before the actual expiration date that the notices should be sent (i.e. 100 days?, 60 days? 34 days? OK – fake numbers but you get the idea).
3) How many days before the expiration date can a manual renewal be triggered?
I see references to “several” or “many” but not an actual 1st notice, 2nd notice, Final Notice your upgrade is gone today time line
I have seen the what was I charged for at the 30 day point when Auto Renew was enabled.
thanks

Morning Morning @TT – finally got the questions to show up in it’s own thread – we answer the questions but thought maybe see if I can get the staff to weigh in with exactly what people should be seeing or receiving – would make our job easier

It depends on whether or not the upgrade is set to auto-renew.
For upgrades set to auto-renewal, we send out notices a few times before renewing, beginning a few months out, and then attempt to auto-renew 30 days before the upgrade expires. This allows us to let the user know if an auto-renew fails, with time to resolve it before the upgrade expires (which is especially important for domains and Custom Design that affects the appearance of a site).
In the event that a user doesn’t have auto-renew enabled, or the charge fails, they should receive additional reminders up to the date of expiration and then one after the upgrade expires.

I do not have auto-renew enabled, maybe this will help:
I received a notification at 90 days, 60 days, 30 days, 15 days. I started the renewal process at 15 days, so don’t know what more would have been received.

@sensuousinkspiller – thanks
I have some upgrades for other sites that I admin and are not on auto-renew and I have been looking for the stream you mention but can’t seem to find it, and I don’t delete email on things like that –
I do seem to remember more than one email notice, but can’t quite remember what I did with the email or the specifics. And I did search a bunch of ways. Did find something like a 15 day notice and a failure to renew (new credit card number) failure – so I am still a bit puzzled.
And I see people in the forum all the time with the “I got no notice” type of thing – stock answer – email of record & check the spam filter – so the exact number of days is what I was looking for from the staff
thanks
