  I need to change the main account associated with our site, and the payment details too – apart from anything else the credit card you have recorded is no longer valid. I want to pay, but it won’t let me!

  The domain mapping upgrade is not associated with your WordPress.com user account but a different account on the site. They would need to log into their account and go to their purchases page to update the card on file for the upgrade:

  https://wordpress.com/me/purchases
