Renewal of Plan

  I have two blogs. http://www.ripplesonthepond.com and http://www.emilyhussey.com.au.
  The user name I registered for ripplesonthepond.com was Dulcet Duckie.
  Emily Hussey is the pen name I use for my writing and my user name is EmHussey.

  I have emails saying that WordPress.com Premium for dulcetduckie.wordpress.com is about to expire but I am not sure to which site this advice refers and cannot find any renew buttons. I have looked on the dashboards of both websites.

  I can see that the domain for emilyhussey.com.au is about to expire, but this domain is registered through crazydomains.com.au.

  I am not sure what I should be renewing or where I should be renewing it. I keep going round in circles on both of these sites.

  Hi there,

  dulcetduckie.wordpress.com and emilyhussey.com.au are the same site.

  Every site on WordPress.com has a free address, and when you buy your own domain that is applied over the free domain, but the free domain still exists.

  So the Premium Plan and domain mapping that is about to expire on dulcetduckie.wordpress.com is for your emilyhussey.com.au site. The domain is registered with Crazy Domains, but the domain mapping that connects it to your site here is what needs to be renewed right now. If you renew the Premium Plan on that site it will also renew the domain mapping.

  I notice your other domain, ripplesonthepond.com, also expires in about 6 weeks. You might want to consider renewing that now as well, to make sure you don’t forget to do it later which could lead to you losing the domain.

  Thank you for that, but I still can’t find where to complete the renew process. I can find a page on which to upgrade but nowhere is there a button or process to follow to renew my current plan.

  I tried to renew at a lower rate because this option was open to me but the system rejected that. I can find this page:

  emilyhussey.com.au
  MAPPED DOMAIN
  Expires in 2 hours
  Primary Domain
  dulcetduckie.wordpress.com
  INCLUDED WITH SITE

  But there is no option provided anywhere to actually renew. I think I will run out of time.

  To explain further – in emails that I have received, there is a button that says ‘Renew WordPress.com Premium’ but when I click on that button it takes me to a page that suggests upgrades but has no facility with which to renew my current subscription. There is no way of renewing my subscription. Most frustrating.

  Hi Em,
  Sounds like you need to renew your (emilyhussey.com.au) domain within Crazy Domains. Do you have an account with them? I’m not familiar with Crazy Domains control panel but most domain names businesses have billing or domain central where you can click a renew button.

  For your ripplesonthepond.com domain, did you register it with wildwestdomains.com? If so, you’ll have to log in your account with Wild West Domains and renew from there.

  I did some more digging. For your ripplesonthepond.com domain, the reseller is WordPress. You can probably renew this domain within WordPress.

  The domain for emilyhussey.com.au still has about 16 months to run with Crazy Domains. It is the domain mapping that is expiring or rather has now expired. I still can’t find where to do that.

  The site is now down, with the message:

  Oh no! This blog’s domain emilyhussey.com.au expired!
  Unfortunately you cannot access this blog from emilyhussey.com.au any more. This domain name expired and will soon be canceled.

  Please contact the owners of this website and remind them to renew this domain before it’s too late. They need your help!

  BUT – there is still nowhere that I can go to renew the domain mapping. It is truly bizarre.

  You wrote in your first post here:

  So you have two different usernames, which means two different accounts. You are posting in this thread as the username emhussey. The emhussey account does not own any upgrades, which is why you are not able to renew any upgrades while logged in as this account.

  Please log out of this account and log in as the dulcetduckie account, and you will be able to renew your upgrades from the Purchases page.

  I have also extended your upgrade with a few days so your site is still accessible while you sort this out.
