Renewal purchase failed, how can I reinstate my account and save the work?

The wordpress.org site I use was due for renewal, old credit card was on file. Payment failed. I need to renew, and want to save the work. Not sure if this is possible. Would like to know before I pay. Was originally a wordpress.com site that was upgraded to wordpress.ortg site.

Are you trying to renew a domain that was originally registered through WordPressdotcom/WildWestDomains?
Any other upgrade/renewal on a self-hosted WP site would be handled directly with your web hosting service, not WordPressdotcom.

Hi there,
Your site, https://lovingcolor.net/, is not a WordPress.org site, but WordPress.com. That site belongs to the username, lovingcolor, and shows as having renewed 34 days ago. That domain will expire in December 2017.
You need to be logged in as the correct username to manage upgrades on that account, but I don’t see any evidence that the renewal failed.
