Renewed domain not working

  I’m working with the WordPress site at daralrahman.wordpress.com. The primary domain for this blog–daralrahman.org–expired in May, and I renewed it on June 15. As far as I can tell, this renewed address should work properly: when I go to “My Domains,” I’m notified that the renewed domain should continue functioning until March 2016. When I actually attempt to navigate to the website using this address, however, the renewed domain does not appear to work. What can I do to resolve this issue?

  Sorry–I’m not sure if it has any significance, but the site expired in March, not May.

  daralrahman.org has expired. For more information on what your options are, please see this document http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

  It looks like this expired so long ago that you can register it again. You can register and associate it with your blog from your domain management screen. https://daralrahman.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

  @Timethief–thank you for your quick response. I understand that daralrahman.org has expired, so I renewed it over a week ago, and it still won’t work. Moreover, when I attempt to register it again, I’m notified that “the domain name you entered is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog.”

  Hi @daralrahmanschool,

  I have looked into your account and the domain daralrahman.org did expire in March and is no longer registered. I have removed it from your account to prevent further confusion. The good news is that the domain is, as of this moment, available to be registered.

  You may re-register the domain by going to the Domains page at:
  https://wordpress.com/domains

  To clear up any confusion, although the domain was expired you were able to purchase domain mapping (which allows you to use a domain purchased elsewhere with WordPress.com) for the domain. Our system made the assumption, wrongfully, that you bought the domain elsewhere and wanted to use it with WordPress.com. I have issued you $13 in credits for the mapping payment which will be applied to checkout of the domain registration.
