renewing

BP the original setup person has turned over the blog or site to me – a representative of the interfaith coalition and I need to add my payment to renew the next year and also add another administrator – how do I do this? I know it’s $26 a year… He is getting the renew request but it should be me… thank you for your help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • We need to transfer ownership of that domain upgrade to your account. The easiest way to do that is to have BP post here making that request.

HOWEVER, if this is an account for a group that has a rotating membership, I would strongly encourage you to set up a generic admin account that owns both the site and the upgrade and uses an email address that will not change no matter if the membership changes. Otherwise you will be in exactly this same situation the next time someone leaves or changes roles.

For now, it seems best to make that request [Brent to post the desire] and then we’ll follow up as the writer suggests and make a permanent solution. For now, let’s take the first step…

    Thanks,

Hello, I’m currently the “owner” of the interfaithutica.org account. Please transfer this to a generic admin account that would include Gerald (Jerry) Lombardo as primary administrator for the site. If you need anything further, let me know at (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Have you set up a generic admin account for this domain to be transferred to? Or does it need to be transferred to the yeswedeliver account?

  • @splate

Thank you very much for taking the time to post.

Hello. Thanks for the follow up. I have not set up a generic admin account. I was looking around and trying to figure out how to do so but was unsuccessful. Doesn’t there need to be an email associated with it? If you could point me in the right direction I’ll do this right away.

  • Someone will need to set up a WordPress.com user account with an email address that everyone/anyone in the organization has access to. Meaning, not someone’s personal email address.

Then once set up, an existing site admin will need to invite the new user to be a site admin using these instructions:

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Not sure why I have to post publicly…anyway, here goes:
Hi, as you may find in the notes – BP began this for a small organization and then turned control over to another [me] and I will do the same in time. The board is working to provide a general email to attach a billing/payment method. In the interim, I was going to pay out of pocket or w company check – but when I look it says ‘Plan’ “Free” … and I see no cost or charges for the hosting.
Apparently, after BP moved control over to me there was a payment due and he passed the note on to me… some details needed be addressed on your [WP] end. I thought they were taken care of when he provided info… but I am unsure at this juncture how to proceed.
I just want to know what is due, when, and for what purposes.
This would be so simple with a telephone call.
Perhaps the domain registration is due? I know it says free plan.
I know some info went back and forth and is in some [this?] support blog or similar – but I am not familiar with it – and prefer not to use it…email is best for me.
Can you tell me what amount is due and if it is for Plan or Domain or both …or something else [?]
Thank you very much for your help.

  • @yeswedeliver

You are now the owner of the domain registration upgrade for that site. As such, you should be able to reach email/livechat support here:

  • @splate

You are still listed as the owner of this site. If you wish to pass ownership onto yeswedeliver (or another WordPress.com user account) you will need to follow these instructions:
