Renewing

    Hey,
I feel silly asking this but I have been up and down the WordPress website and it isn’t clear how to renew my ‘professional – 99/yr’ page. My page will expire by the end of the month. Can you help me?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner of that upgrade.

Typically this happens because you ended up with a second WordPress.com user account at some point and THAT account is the one that was used to purchase the upgrade. You will need to log into that second account in order to renew the upgrade.

Thank you rootjosh. My situation is unique. I emailed passwordhelp@wordpress.com my situation but maybe you can help.
For the two accounts associated with the website, my email is: (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff)

I don’t know how public this support forum is so I will limit my details to my emails in hopes of help.

Can you help me out rootjosh? It is crunch time for our website and we can’t afford it to go down because of a stupid error two years ago on my part.

  • If you have the email address associated with the other account, you can recover your password here:

Thank you rootjosh but it still did not work. Is there any other way you can contact me or I you? The email associated with the account does not exist. I need it changed and I need to talk to someone via phone or email so that I may share sensitive information. Thank you.

  • HI there,

If you no longer have access to the email address for that account, the other option is a transaction ID for the last time you renewed your upgrades on that site.

That transaction ID appears on the receipt we email you with each payment, so if you have the receipts filed somewhere you can get it from there. Otherwise you can contact PayPal directly to obtain it – your upgrade payments were processed by them, even if you paid directly via card, so if you provide them with the transaction details they can provide you the transaction ID.

    Retrieving a PayPal Transaction ID

Once you have that ID you can enter it on the account recovery form, and once you submit that and we’ve verified it, we can help you regain access to your site.

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

That is the only information we can accept to verify your ownership of the other account, so please take the steps I outlined to get that transaction ID and then submit the form. We won’t accept any other type of personal ID or other information, as we don’t have anything to verify that against.

Your upgrades on that site only expire on 3 February, so there is still enough time to sort this out if you get in touch with PayPal immediately.
