I am taking over as administrator for a blog and have questions about how to renew our domain. I cannot find the answer to my question in the support forums and would appreciate talking to a representative to answer my questions.

It looks like that domain is not currently connected to your account. If it should be, please contact the original owner and ask them to chime in here so I can transfer the domain to your account instead.
The underlying WordPress.com site, minnesotaemployerdotcom.wordpress.com, is also not owned by your account. I can transfer that with a request from the current owner as well.

The owner of the account invited me to be an administrator of minnesotaemployer.com earlier today via an invitation generated from his WordPress account. I accepted that invitation, received the confirmation email, and could see minnesotaemployer.com listed in my account. What do I need to do next?

Only the owner can renew that domain. So, if they’re still involved in the site, you should have them do it.
If they are no longer involved in the management of the site, I can transfer the site and the domain to your account. However, I need them to request that change. You could link them to this forums post and ask them post confirming that they’d like to transfer the site and domain to your account instead.

Is there a number I can call you at to discuss? After discussing with the colleague who invited me to be an administrator today, I now understand that the person who is the “owner” is no longer with our company. I want to verify that it’s the same person you have on file before we make any changes.

We don’t offer phone support, and we do not release user information to anyone but the owner of the account. If you can not reach out to this person about requesting the transfer, let me know and I’ll send you a private email about recovering the account.
