Renewing and expired domain

  • Unknown's avatar

I am running a website that uses the domain yonseijournal.com. The domain has expired and I wasn’t given a notification of its expiration. When I click the “edit” button to renew it nothing happens. Is there anyway to renew it? The Worspress site is not being responsive.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You don’t click the Edit button to renew it. You click the button in the Store to buy it. But since it’s expired you will require staff help to see if it’s available. It may have an extra fee.

We are willing to pay the fee. How do I contact the staff? WordPress does not provide a phone number.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, we no longer control the domain yonseijournal.com and cannot renew it for you. All of your content is still available through this URL:

    yonseijournal.wordpress.com

I removed the expired domain upgrade from your account to avoid further confusion.

We attempted to inform your domain’s expiration (via email and dashboard notices). It was possible to recover the domain for some weeks after its expiration, but because of the time lapsed, the domain was sent back to the registrar who then sold it to a new owner.

This support article describes the expiration process in detail, if you are interested:

    Domain Expiration

Here is the publicly available contact information of the new domain owner:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=yonseijournal.com

You could try contacting them to see if they will sell the domain to you. Please be sure to use a reputable online purchasing site for this transaction, if it happens.

I am sorry I was not able to help you more in this case.
