renewing domain

  I’ve been receiving emails notifying me that my domain will expire at the end of October and that I should renew it before then. However, when I go to renew it I’m only offered options to upgrade which I have no interest in. How can I pay to renew my domain without upgrading my plan?

  I think they changed and you can no longer just have a custom domain. You have to have one of their plans. Read about it here https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  Are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the underlying .WordPress.com site and purchased the upgrade for it? That’s required in order to renew the existing upgrades.

  If you are not logged in under the correct username account clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login under the correct username account.

  Hi folks,

  To clarify, new accounts do need plans for custom domains. You can see new plan offerings here: http://wordpress.com/plans

  But if you already have a domain, you can renew it. You just need to be sure to log into the account that owns the domain, as @timethief mentioned. I’ve confirmed I don’t see any active domains on @ yoramshanan’s account.

  If you’ll log out, then log in again using the email address that gets the expiration notices, you should be able to renew the domain (so long as you haven’t allowed it to stay expired for a long time.)
