Renewing domain

Hello, I’m trying to renew my site and its domain that expired in February 2017. It was $26 to Renew for another year (paid $26 for the past 2 years), but I cannot find that option or price. I received an email on March 2, 2017 telling me that renewal would be $26. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/. Note that there is a domain redemption fee charged by the domain registrar that cannot be waived by wordpress.COM.

If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here. -
Hi @roxannep89, it would have been $26 back then, but since it’s May now, the registrar charges us an extra $80 to renew.
Do you want us to make an invoice for $106 or do you want to let it continue the expiration process? If it finishes expiring (mind you this takes a while), you can get it back at the normal price. But you do risk that someone else would buy it, and if they did it would belong to them instead.
