Renewing Domain

  I am trying to renew my domain name, wordpress tells me I have to update my DNS to renew the domain. I registered my custom domain with wordpress.com a year ago. I figured out how to log into automattic to make changes to my DNS, but once in there my domain isn’t there. Help. I have no idea what I am doing. I just want to renew my domain to keep blogging.

  Where did you purchase your domain name from please?
  If you purchased your domain name somewhere else and then paid for a domain mapping upgrade to map it to your WordPress.com blog, that means you have to renew the domain name wherever you purchased it and your domain mapping upgrade here at WordPress.com every year.

  I purchased the custom domain name upgrade through wordpress.com. To the best of my knowledge, everything was done through wordpress.com.

  When I try to renew, there is a message saying to contact support to renew this subscription.

  Hi there – the domain heavycake.com expired on November 1, 2012, and is now in Pending Delete status. That means it cannot be renewed, but it should soon be released back into the pool of available domain names.

  I suggest you check back every day to see whether it becomes available to register again.
