Renewing domain name
-
I began using a self-hosted domain with Bluehost.com, but I still am using wordpress.org to publish my blogs. I’ve gotten a lot of emails with the following message:
“The domain name turtleboysports.com is about to expire. This upgrade replaces your site’s default address of “turtleboysports.wordpress.com” with the custom domain “turtleboysports.com”.”
Today I paid the $26 to renew the domain “turtleboysports.com.” Does the fact that I am now self-hosted on bluehost have any implications that I am not understanding. I cannot afford to lose my site’s domain for a single day. Please let me know.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com is your domain registrar. As with any domain registration, you need to renew your domain every year. This is regardless of if you use WordPress.com, self-host with WordPress.org, or have no website whatsoever. If you have a domain registered, you need to renew it every year.
Does that clear things up?
