Renewing Domain Name That Has Expired

I did not receive any notification that my domain was about to expire and have just learned it is already in the $80 late renewal fee category. I am trying to pay the fee and renew the domain and keep getting a message that “There was a problem renewing this domain.” Please let me know what I can do to renew this domain.

Hi,
We’ve sent an email to the registered email address with instructions to pay for the domain renewal. We did send the renewal notifications. Please make sure our emails are not being filtered as spam/junk by your email client and look for them in those folders.

They were in fact in my trash folder. The email with renewal instructions from the date prior to the expiration seemed to work as far as accepting a payment, but after waiting and refreshing several times it does’t appear that the payment has worked. In the invoice area it shows a billing for $0.

You need to manually pay for the domain registration renewal along with the domain redemption fee. Did you receive the email I’ve sent you a few hours ago with a link to make the payment? Please check your inbox and other folders of your email address that you used to register this WordPress.com account and you’ll see the email.
Once you make the payment, we’ll follow up with the registry to get your domain recovered from redemption.
