Renewing domain – no renew button

I need to renew the doamin hollingdeancommunitycentre.org.uk but there is no renew button. I can’t find any info that tells me how to renew without this button. Thank you.

The domain name hollingdeancommunitycentre.org.uk is not registered with WordPress.COM (they don’t register .uk domains) – you need to renew the registration with the company that holds the registration
Domain Mapping is here for your blog – but you need to be logged in as the EXACT account / name that Owns the Domain Mapping upgrade to renew it – is there another account you might have used to buy the domain mapping or another person that might have bought it?

Hi Auxclass – thank for your response. The blog is a community site run by volunteers and it is quite possible that some-one set up and paid for the domain name. There is no record of who that was! Am I just going to have to wait for the domain name to become available again and hope that I can claim it before anyone else?

Don’t loose the registration for hollingdeancommunitycentre.org.uk – it will be a big mess and your site could be down for a couple of months or more and you could loose the name – there is a whole industry that buys expired domain names and holds them hostage – it is registered to your community center – it is worth checking with everyone that ever walked through the front door to see exactly who registered the domain name – and get the info recorded so the domain name is not at risk
The domain mapping is good for one year – there are two options for the domain mapping – renew with the original account or when the mapping expires another Admin can buy it again – but the old domain mapping would need to be cleared by the staff here so another Admin could buy the Domain Mapping again so your site would show correctly
I will flag this for the staff to help – they should be able to tell you when the domain mapping expires
Also look at
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> and see if you can see the status of the domain mapping

PS – you can do a whois and find out some info about who registered the domain name – there will be some sort of contact info for who registered the name – that is an internet rule – so you should be able to find an address, email, phone etc

The domain mapping upgrade is owned by the user named Peter. Only that user can renew it.

Alternatively, I can cancel the expired upgrade so you can purchase itself, but that will disrupt the blog until you re-purchase it.

Hi Maxmanc… I have tried to contact Peter D but with no success. I’d like to go ahead with your second suggestion and organise a re-purchase. Could that be arranged soon? Thx

Ok, the domain mapping has been canceled. You can now re-map the domain by adding it via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
