Renewing my domain name

Hi there,
My domain name ‘wethewildpdx.com’ expired in November but I had forgotten to switch my wordpress contact email to my new email address so I never saw the email to renew it. Now I can’t figure out how to renew that domain name.

wethewildpdx.com expired on 2016-11-23 and is currently in the redemption period.

The good news is that you can still try to recover your domain as it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else at auction or sold on back-order. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular domain renewal cost of $18. The total cost will be $98.
If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount. Once that has been paid, we can start the process of trying to get your domain back. Should the recovery fail after you’ve paid the redemption fee, that fee is refunded in full.
If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but you may not be able to get it back if it is purchased at auction during this time.
Acting quickly is important if you do want to try and recover the domain, so please let me know what you would like to do as soon as you can.

Thanks for responding. I already paid a $99 fee and it said that the domain name is registered again but it still won’t show the website. Is this a separate fee?

You have a Premium plan but it looks like you want to point your domain to your Squarespace site, is that correct? If that’s the case, you don’t need a Premium plan.
Your domain was included in the previous Premium plan purchase. But that was cancelled and you purchased a new Premium plan which is why the domain expired — the domain was part of the plan that was cancelled. What you currently have on your account is domain mapping.
First, if you want to keep the domain, we need to try and recover it. Please confirm whether this is something you would like to do.
If you do want to point the domain to your Squarespace site, you will need to change the nameservers for the domain (I can give you instructions for this). As the Premium plan isn’t needed, I can cancel and refund the cost for you.

I definitely want to keep the domain name! And yes we are pointing it to squarespace so if I don’t need the premium plan to do that I would like to cancel that. Thank you so much for letting me know about that, it will save me some major $$$.

I definitely want to keep the domain name!
Ok, great. I’ve just sent a payment request to you for the redemption fee ($80) and domain registration fee ($18). Once that has been paid I will start the recovery process — we normally have a response from the registrar in about 2 days.
When I’ve had a response, I’ll refund you for the plan and mapping — and add the domain back to your account if its been recovered.

Our records are showing that the email address for the domain needs to be verified — have you received an ICANN verification email? If so, you can follow the instructions.

When you registered the domain you would have been asked to add domain contact information. You have specified a different email address to the one you are using for your WordPress.com account — so you need to check the other email address.
