renewing my site won't work
-
Hi! I’m trying to renew my site (blog.tippiepics.com) and it’s telling me that I can’t because someone else did it last time. I’m very confused by this as I don’t remember having any other accounts on here! Any suggestions?
-
I should post the actual note I get:
This subscription was originally purchased by another user. Please log in as the correct user to renew this subscription.
Because I am unaware of any other WP usernames that I have, I’m at a loss…
-
Uh oh! Your blog’s domain blog.tippiepics.com expired 58 days ago!
There are three questions you need to answer yourself:
1. What is the exact URL of the wordpress.COM hosted site in question?
2. Exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered it?
3. Exactly which email address was used when wordpress.COM username account was registered.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade to access the blog’s dashboard and renew the upgrade(s).

Hi there,
I see the mapping subscription for blog.tippiepics.com ( connected to tippiepics.wordpress.com) under your account, but as @Timethief quoted, it expired about 2 months ago.
This may be unrelated, but we were having some issues with domains the other day which just got cleared up. So, try renewing the mapping again and let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks!

Thank you both! I will try it again today. I have no other accounts linked to this particular one, so I suspect it may be the issue you guys were experiencing the other day.
Thank you!

So, I tried it again and it still won’t allow me to renew. I have only ever had this account with WP and I’m at a loss. Would love to know what my next step is! (I was going to cancel and then start over to make sure it was associated properly, but I can’t… Because it was done on some other random unknown account.)
Thanks so much!

Hi there,
I was able to map blog.tippiepics.com for you and set the expiration date for a few days out. You’ll still need to do a few things:
1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains
Let us know if you need more help!

Thanks! When I go there now, it says “auto-renews on October 20, 2016” and there is no option to purchase the subscription. I can only cancel it. What do you suggest?
Also, where am I pointing the domain? On my host? or on your site?
Thank you so much for your help!

When I go there now, it says “auto-renews on October 20, 2016” and there is no option to purchase the subscription
That is referring to your premium plan subscription, which includes your mapping subscription – which is why you do not see the individual mapping subscription under your account.
What I can do is separate the subscriptions so that you can renew the mapping without having to renew the entire premium upgrade.
Let me know if that works. Thanks!

that sounds great! i am even open to deleting it and then renewing it.. (I am sorry for the slow reply, I missed the email..)
Thank you again for your help!

Hi there,
I separated the subscriptions for you, so you should now be able to renew the mapping apart from the premium upgrade. Please let me know if you still have trouble with the renewal.
Thanks!
-
You are officially my hero! Thank you SO much!!! It finally worked!
What was the problem? Did I do something wrong before? Just so I know for the future….
Yay!
-
Awesome!
No, you didn’t do anything wrong at all. The mapping subscription was added into a bundle on our end, so the only way you could renew the mapping would be to renew the entire bundle. However, the expiration date of the mapping and the entire bundle were different – which was part of the problem. Apologize about that! But, things are sorted on your end and now you can renew the mapping and the rest of the bundle separately (if you choose to).
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
