Renewing Sub after a 2 year hiatus

if I do renew my USD 5 annual sub, can I get back my domain which was previous under wordpress ? Ive done some research and the domain is not taken yet. Ive been requesting to know more on this, but for some reason the message is not going through WP system

If the domain is not registered anywhere else, you can definitely re-register it here to your WordPress.com site:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
You will need to purchase the domain as a part of a paid plan now since you cannot use can no longer purchase a domain separately from a plan:
