Repeated attempts to post a blog entry failed

    Hey there! Here’s my situation —

    I tried repeatedly to post a blog entry called “I Cooked a Thing: Luna-inspired bar recipe…” in which I broke down a food experiment of mine for the Brunch Is Important weblog I contribute to.

    The original post was started on the 14th of March 2013 … a few drafts were saved and it went live by about 5 p.m. EST. Everything seemed good every time I previewed it, so I set it off when I published it and went on my way.

    I used the WordPress main administration area under Add New for the post.

    Any information about why ANY time I tried to post this blog entry ended with me only getting the first sentence of it live would be helpful.

    I tried multiple times after the 14th to post it again and only got the first sentence of it to go live. This was incredibly frustrating, as I (admittedly, foolishly) did not save the text anywhere else and had to re-write it later …to have it delete on me again.

    Let me know what’s up or what else I can do.

    If you see the other threads on the Missing Post tag https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/missing-post , you’ll see this is unfortunately a known bug and right now there’s no solution of which we know. For now, I suggest using an offline blog editor as it saves a copy.

    I don’t see any trace of the post at http://brunchisimportant.info/ did you delete it?

    Also, was it reverting back to Draft status?

    @raincoaster — thank you for the response. I have since learned to never slack off about saving to a document offline.

    staff-blorbo — Yes, after publishing it twice on different occasions (the first of which was the Wednesday I started it initially; the second attempt was that Friday), I deleted the post. It continuously reverted to the first saved draft — which is to say that it would publish live as ONE sentence, which is when I first saved my draft when I began the entry. I then treated it like a MS Word document, clicking “save draft” at various points during the construction of the blog entry.

    Meh.

    Ok, if that ever happens again, try just copying and pasting everything into a new post and publishing that.

    We’re working on tracking down the reverting to Draft bug.
