Repeating home page in Pique theme?

  • Unknown's avatar

    On my site, which is in development using the Pique Theme, *the home page is repeating* when I set it as a ‘panel.’

    But I need to make it a ‘panel’ because that’s the only place I can set the opacity for the home page featured image — I DON’T WANT THE DARK FILTER OVER THE IMAGE.

    The url is diamondworkmichigan.org

    Can anyone help with custom css to fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi lindsaydell

    Are you referring to the background image? I’m not seeing a featured image on your home page.

    I’m working with Pique right now, and you need to revise the CSS to target the opacity and brightness of the homepage, like this:

    .pique-panel-background {
    opacity: .7;
    filter: brightness(0.8);
    }

    The opacity and filter settings together will control transparency and brightness of your large image.

    Hope that helps!

    Just in case you’re not familiar with custom CSS, you might try it exactly like this:

    .pique-panel-background {
    opacity: 1.0;
    }

    That will effectively remove the effect of the dark filter over the image. Tinker with the filter: brightness setting if you also need to lighten up the image further.

    Thanks guys! The opacity fix worked!

    And to g471n… arghh! I forgot to change the dropdown menu options to show you which url to look at, and WordPress automatically defaulted to a different blog. The one I needed help with was diamondworkmichigan.org! No wonder you couldn’t see what I was talking about! The good news is, I figured out how to stop the repeat :) Thanks so much everyone!
