Repeating question: Embed ConstantContact inline forms
-
hi there!
This has been asked many times before but since it has been a while, I thought I’ll ask again in case this is now possible. Considering this is just such a typical use case, I am really hoping there’s a solution!
I am trying to embed a basic ConstantContact form on my website (explorer plan). This comprises of a div block which I placed using custom html and some script tag that I placed as custom in the footer block.
But both codes get stripped off (security reasons I guess). But is there some way do this? The default WP subscribe feature is quite useless and I prefer to use my own e-marketing platform to manage my list and send newsletters to. And this is quite typical of all the websites I have built but nowhere has it been blocked like it has here.
Please do let me know…upgrading to creator plan just for this is not worth it in my opinion…
thank you!

To be able to use the embed code, there is no way round but you must upgrade to the Creator Plan.
But why would you use some third party form as we have our own Form Block – https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/form-block/
I guess most other sites as you call them, are not running on the wordpress.com platform but are selfhosted meaning they use the upen source wordpress.org.
WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Thanks for your quite reply @staartmees
Upgrading to the Creator plan for just this feature is a lot for me as I am only trying to build a basic 2 page site with some info and a way to build my email list.
I am an experienced WP developer and have built many WP sites using their open-source self-managed codebase and of course, there’s we have full flexibility to embed custom code (with the undetstanding of responsiblity and risk) but I was hoping to build this on WP.com for just a basic purpose. But looks like connecting with external email marketing platforms is not considered basic enough.
Your suggestion of using the form block is great though. But I am not sure how to capture just emails and how can I then take that list into ConstantContact without a manual (and hence less secure) process? I am using this for my basic contact form though.
There’s also built in subscribe block but that seems to capture the emails within WordPress itself and I am not sure again how to move it from here into CC to use its much more robust list management and email building features…
thanks!

Why don’t you make use of MailChimp and our Mailchimp integration? – https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/mailchimp-block/

Great – thanks for that suggestion!
I was not aware of this builtin integration – will try that out shortly..
