Replace Text on Blog Page in Eventbrite Theme
-
Hi.
On this page: http://fordhamartlawsociety.com/art-blog/
The page current says “Latest Events Updates.” Instead, I would like it to say “Art Law Blog,” which is the title of the page itself. I realize that this is the post page and another person was able to help me get rid of the event carousel that was previously there by using:
.eb-carousel {
display: none;
}.page-id-254 .eb-carousel {
display: block;
}in CSS.
I tried using:
.page-id-254 .headline {
display: Publications;
}but that did not do it.
Please help.
Thanks

Hey,
I could very well be missing something, but can’t you just edit this page’s title? What does the Title say for this page on Quick Edit?
-
Nope. The page’s title is Art Law Blog.
I looked at the source code of the page: This is what it is:
<h1 class=”pagetitle”>Latest Event Updates</h1>
<div class=”event-item post-278 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-755991 category-fall tag-entertainment-law tag-trademark” id=”post-278″> -
I’m not familiar with the Eventbrite Multi Event theme, but if you go to https://fordhamartlawsociety.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=254&action=edit, what is listed for the title for this page?

Sorry if I seemed mystified by all this…may I ask what the title is for https://fordhamartlawsociety.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=278&action=edit ?

All right, I have no clue why “Latest Event Updates” is showing up, but I’m sure it’s unique to this theme. It has to be getting that title from somewhere and there has to be a logical spot to change it so we can avoid a CSS solution (@thesacredpath, any ideas?).
In any case, try this:
.blog .pagetitle { color: white } .blog .pagetitle:before { content: "Art Law Blog"; color: #666; } -
Hey. So it half worked… yes it now says “Art Law Blog” but if you highlight the white area next to you, you see “latest events update”— so correct track– but not perfect yet.
thoughts?

Save the CSS changes — they don’t appear on the site yet.
Aside from finding the location where Latest Events Updates resides and changing it, I’m not sure if there is another method beyond hiding the original next in the way I’ve suggested. I can continue to play with it, but I’m a little guarded that it can be done. We’ll see…

Thanks and appreciated… let me know if there is anywhere you think I should look to find the original source.

So, WordPress.com pulls information from Eventbrite.com, right?
Is there an event listing on Eventbrite.com that’s pulling the title, Latest Events Updates over to your site?
-
hmmm… didn’t find anything.. but I took a look at the demo and it had it there also…
-
Cripes. I should have searched more thoroughly…instead of changing the color, this just shoves the original way out of the picture.
.blog .pagetitle { text-indent: -99999em; } .blog .pagetitle:after { content: "Art Law Blog"; color: #666 visibility: visible; display: block; position: absolute; padding: 0px; top: 0px; text-indent: 0; }Adapted from a post by @hfzrhmn on Changing the automatic title of the posts page.

Good news and bad news– it got rid of the “Latest events updates” but it also got rid of the art law blog…… so close… no cigar..

One last question—- sorry– is there any way to center it– I have indented the text now, but I am afraid it will look funny on different devices.
Thanks

You could remove the position: absolute; and add text-align: center;, but it shoves things down a bit. Not sure you’ll like that…I would leave it alone as the left alignment is consistent with the rest of the site.
.blog .pagetitle:after { content: "Art Law Blog"; color: #666; visibility: visible; display: block; padding: 0; top: 0; text-indent: 0; text-align: center; }
